Toward the end of May 2011, and much to the Indies' dismay, all of the Kindle book tags were removed in the Kindle store by Amazon, allegedly because of the rampant abuse of the search tag feature by some newly self-published kindlers who had mistakenly sought to artificially boost their eBooks' positions in Amazon's search engine and charts by posting large volumes of tag-exchange threads all over Amazon.com, Amazon-UK, etc.
